This CD contains a seven-page report and two appendices in an easily readable PDF format that addresses the delineation of drinking water source protection zones for the Mountain Green, Morgan County, public-water-supply well. Transmissivity for the aquifer was estimated from specific-capacity data derived from a well test performed when the well was completed in 1962. Field observations and aquifer data with a semianalytical, steady-state, two-dimensional ground-water-flow model to delineated protective zones for 250-day, 3-year, and 15-year ground-water travel times were combined. The delineation of drinking water source protection zones is part of a preventive strategy to minimize potential degradation of water quality by defining areas in which contamination or withdrawals would significantly affect the water supply.
