This report identified individual wells that had significant indications of natural gas within the Mancos Shale and Hermosa Group shale gas reservoirs, revealing regional patterns of gas shows in the Mancos and Hermosa. The report includes a database contained production and drill-stem tests, depths and character of gas shows, mud gas observations, and other information related to gas discoveries. More than 800 well files were examined, 99 indicating natural gas in the Mancos and 43 indicating gas in the Hermosa shales.

This report includes appendices of wells with gas shows in the Mancos and Hermosa shales of: (1) natural gas tests, (2) drill-stem tests, (3) mud gas measurements, and (4) natural gas flares in the Mancos.
