The dramatic Wind River Range in western Wyoming embraces 2.25 million acres, stretching 110 miles from South Pass in the south to Togwotee Pass in the north and averaging 35 to 40 miles wide from Green River Basin on its west side to Wind River Valley on its east. Such a vast area provides many opportunities for wilderness challenges and solitude. Three wilderness areas offer over 700 miles of trail. Cross-country exploration opens even more territory from high plateaus and meadows to glaciers and alpine summits.

This map covers the northern portion of the Wind River Range, from Elkhart Park to Union Pass and includes background regulations and trip planning information.
