The Uinta Mountain-Uinta Basin couplet is the largest Laramide structure in Utah, and is similar to other such Laramide couplets in New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana. Because of its economic significance, the Uinta Basin has been the subject of many papers and guidebooks. The Uinta Mountains have not been addressed since 1969, so this publication was put together to address the need for a geologic guidebook of that area.
