The Price 30' x 60' quadrangle, entirely within the Colorado Plateaus province contains two major physiographic features: the south flank of the Uinta Basin, and a series of interconnected lowlands, shaped somewhat like a southward-facing crescent, that encircle the north end of the San Rafael Swell. By far the most important, geologically is the south flank of the Uinta Basin which occupies about four fifths of the quadrangle. Cities such as Price Sunnyside, and Wellington are in the lowlands, and all major roads and rail lines follow these interconnected lowlands for access to these cities.

The map contained on this compact disc is a digital version of the Geologic Map of the Price 30' x 60' Quadrangle, Carbon, Duchesne, Uintah, Utah, and Wasatch Counties, Utah by Malcolm P. Weiss, Irving J. Witkind, and William B. Cashion and published by the USGS in 1990. This digital map is presented in three formats: PDF, ArcReader/ArcMap project, and a JPG thumbnail. These documents are the same as the published map except for minor changes.
